Position Purpose
The Business Analyst has responsibility to advise and assist in execution of department level forecasting and replenishment strategies for major events and programs.
As the Subject Matter Expert in Supply Chain principles and having an in depth knowledge of SAP, the Business Analyst will be accountable for assisting the IPR Manager with training new hires, and will participate in and/or lead continuous process improvement initiatives. The Business Analyst will also be expected to deliver complex analytics to support business objectives.
Position Responsibilities of a Business Analyst
You are expected to perform the following responsibilities;
- Sets department level replenishment policies ensuring all areas are able to meet inventory and service level metrics
- Provide process oversight for various forecasting and replenishment procedures to ensure high quality process outputs
- Acts as the Lead of the department when Manager is unavailable.
- Perform complex analytics and deliver recommendations based on sound Supply Chain principles
- Recommend and assist in the implementation of best practices within the team
- Collaborate cross-functionally on the event load in strategy and timeline governance
- Provide key reporting and tactical support to IPR, Merchandising, Logistics and Senior Management and track Key Performance Indicators
- Coordinate the activities of analysts in their functional area to support large events
- Identify process improvement opportunities and implement solutions
- On-board new Replenishment and Forecast Analysts with IPR Events process
- Represent the IPR group as Subject Matter Experts in Supply Chain initiatives and projects
Knowledge/Experience Required of the Business Analyst
- Internal Candidates: Must fulfill minimum time-in-position (1 year) and performance management code requirements (M+, Meets Expectations and Consistently Demonstrates)
- 5+ years of analytical experience (ideally in a retail environment) with emphasis on inventory management, forecasting, demand management and/or replenishment.
- University or College Degree in business or engineering will be considered as a preferred qualification
- SAP knowledge (Retail or Manufacturing) is required.
- Advanced proficiency with MS Excel and/or MS Access
- Experience in project management an asset
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to extrapolate pertinent information from various sources (reports and spreadsheets) and analyze data for recommendations.
- Excellent communication skills; collaborative with effective interpersonal skills; able to work across departments.
- Strong customer focus with business acumen, problem solving skills and results orientated
- Self -directed, ability to work with limited supervision.
